RF042 – Reflections on 2021 and What’s to Come in 2022
I don’t consider myself psychic but I do consider myself to be highly intuitive. After many years, I’ve come to understand and trust my intuition. One of the things that become abundantly clear to me in looking back at 2021 is that it has been one of the most tumultuous years in modern history.
RF041 – How to Connect with Your Personal Sovereignty and Genius with Anna Tsui
During this episode of The Resiliency Factor, I had an incredible conversation with one of the most amazing and soulful female entrepreneurs on the planet, Anna Tsui.
RF040 – Actions are Louder than Words
Actions speak louder than words. How many times have you heard this over the course of your lifetime? Probably too many to count. As cliche as it sounds, it’s true. Words are nothing more than empty promises unless you actually act on them.
RF039 – When Necessity Meets Desire with Biljana Karamehmedovic
During this episode of The Resiliency Factor, I had an incredible conversation with one of the most courageous and resilient women entrepreneurs on the planet, Dr. Biljana Karamehmedovic or Dr. B, for short. During our time together, Dr. B. recalled in vivid detail how she found the mental and physical strength to literally run to catch a bus in order to escape war-torn Bosnia as she clung onto her baby. It was literally a do-or-die moment and one that transformed her life forever.
RF038 – What to Do When Life Lets You Down
It’s easy to be happy when everything is going well and according to plan. It’s easy to be in a good mood when you wake up and the sun is shining and you’ve got a roster full of paying clients and everybody’s paying you on time. That’s easy, but true character and true growth only happen when we face life challenges.
RF037 – Awareness is the Key to Personal Transformation with Ariel Bloomer
During this episode of The Resiliency Factor, I had the honor and privilege to sit down for a real, raw, and vulnerable conversation about personal transformation and growth with singer, songwriter, musician, TEDx speaker, and author of Turn Your Pain into Art, Ariel Bloomer. Ariel is also the co-founder and lead singer for the band, Icon for Hire.
RF036 – Staying Motivated Over the Long Haul
When times are tough, as they sometimes are, it’s easy to give up. When you’re tired, hungry, and you’ve got a million and one things on your to-do list and you know there’s no way you can accomplish all of them, it’s easy to give up. When you’re running out of time and you still have to take care of yourself and your family, it’s easy to give up. On any given day, you can find a reason or an excuse to simply throw in the towel and surrender.
RF035 – It’s Okay to Be Human
Let’s face it. We’re living in very uncertain times and even though many of us who are in the online entrepreneurial space are somewhat sheltered from what is going on in the “real” world, we are not immune to feeling a wide range of human emotions. Even if you are a successful online entrepreneur and you have not been directly impacted economically by the events of the last 18 months, chances are you may be feeling overwhelmed, sad, or even downright angry at times. And, you know what? It’s all okay. You are, after all, a human being.
RF034 – How to Show Up More Confidently for Your Next Facebook Live
As entrepreneurs, we know that in order to build know, like, and trust with our potential clients, we need to be visible in the online space. That being said, many entrepreneurs, especially female entrepreneurs, lack the self-confidence they need to truly put themselves out there.
RF033 – How to Turn Your Pain Into Passion
I’ll never forget the moment in which I felt my mom’s soul depart from her earthly body. It was February 10, 2020. I was standing by her bedside crying, begging, and pleading with God to wake her up from the coma she had slipped into only five days earlier on February 5th.
I held her hand as I played a beautiful Christian song for her. As the tears streamed down my face, I thought for sure that my knees would buckle and I would fall helplessly on the hospital floor.
RF032 – Parker Stevenson on Taking the Plunge Into Entrepreneurship
Parker Stevenson is a managing partner and the Chief Business Officer at Evolved Finance, a bookkeeping firm that specializes in helping online entrepreneurs to build more profitable and financially stable online businesses.
For over 6 years, Parker has been advising some of the top coaches, course creators, influencers, and thought leaders on how to make more sound business decisions using their financial data. RF031 – Everyone Starts at the Beginning
In this week’s episode of The Resiliency Factor Podcast, I focus on normalizing the apprehension and anxiety that often accompanies change. Change of any kind, especially change that involves trying something new or taking on a new role, threatens the ego on many levels. It’s not that the ego is purely evil and trying to sabotage our efforts just because it has nothing better to do.
RF030 – Jenna Faith on Creating a Million Dollar Mindset and Business
Jenna Faith is a Visibility and Mindset Strategist. She is committed to supporting high-achieving women to embody entrepreneurship, master their mindset, and build multi-six and seven-figure brands without sacrificing who they are. She is also a Podcaster and Best-Selling Author.
Prior to hitting the million-dollar mark in her business, Jenna recounts the earlier years in her business. According to Jenna, she “hit rock bottom in 2014” – she wasn’t just cash-strapped and struggling in her business, she’d also lost Mr. Right, packed on a metric ton of weight, and begrudgingly had to shack up with her parents just to skid by.
RF029 – Worry is a Useless Waste of Time
In this week’s episode of The Resiliency Factor Podcast, I address the topic of worry as it has become an all too common part of our daily lives. With so much uncertainty in the world, it’s understandable that we worry. We worry about our health. We worry about our families. We worry about our finances. Hell, we even worry about our very existence.
RF028 – Josh Carey on Overcoming Fear to Build a Successful Life and Business
On this episode of The Resiliency Factor, Josh reveals that growing up he always felt like he needed to hide his success from his peers for fear of being judged or called names. He describes how downplaying his success was actually a defensive coping mechanism which served him in the short-term to be accepted by others, but ultimately wound up shattering his self-confidence in leading him to death himself in every other area of his life. Josh reveals to listeners how he was able to break free from his propensity to play small and downplay his wins.
RF027 – Self-Love is Essential to Survival and Success
In this week’s episode of The Resiliency Factor Podcast, I open up about my own previous experience of battling debilitating depression, paralyzing anxiety, and feelings of worthlessness for most of my young adult life. I also talk about some of the reasons why so many people in today’s society also struggle with the same or similar conditions I once did.

RF025 – Being a Self-Starter Makes All the Difference
In this week’s episode of The Resiliency Factor Podcast, I discuss why it’s so critically important to be a self-starter, especially as an entrepreneur. A self-starter is someone who is disciplined, persistent, and capable of igniting her own inner flame of motivation to keep going no matter what. A self-starter has the ability to recognize that in order to become a successful entrepreneur, she must promise herself to stay the course no matter how twisted or convoluted it may become at times.

RF023 – How to Distance Yourself from Toxic People
In this week’s episode of The Resiliency Factor Podcast, I discuss the reasons why you need to shield, protect, and rid yourself of the toxic people in your life, no matter how unpopular your decision may be. It’s important to note that a toxic person can be anyone, a parent, a spouse or partner, a friend, or even a complete stranger that you’ve met online. The common factor amongst toxic people is that you find yourself having a very negative emotional response whenever you are in their presence.

RF021 – Recovering from Depression, Anxiety, and Professional Burnout
In this week’s episode of The Resiliency Factor Podcast, I open up about my experience in dealing with debilitating depression, paralyzing anxiety, and severe professional burnout at one point in life a few years back. During this very personal, raw, and intimate episode, I even describe how negative self-talk and a lifetime of putting so much pressure on myself to be perfect eventually led me to one of the deepest, darkest valleys of my life and I was only 26 years old! Things actually got so bad that I didn’t care whether I lived or died. Yes, things got that bad. Everyday was a living hell, as if I was stuck in someone else’s nightmare, except the nightmare was mine.
The good news is that I survived. Along with God’s Divine Intervention and the help of a good therapist, I survived. Once I decided that I was worth saving and handed it over to God, I made it through the storm. I am happy to report that I have been free of depression and anxiety for over ten years now. I’ve gained so much wisdom and insight about myself during this time, that I can hardly believe that I felt so badly about myself, that I actually contemplated not being here.
Now, My recovery did not happen overnight. There were moments even after coming through the darkest night of the storm that I still battled my own thoughts from time to time. Once I realized though that I was the only one responsible for my own inner dialogue, it became easier and easier to flip any negative thoughts before they could permeate my perception.
In this episode I give you a brief overview of the steps I took to recover from depression, anxiety, and professional burnout.

She also adds how frustrating this can be when we have different personalities that we just can’t seem to bring together in our places of work.
- She tells how powerful it would be if people would just simply express their true selves regardless of the setting they find themselves in unapologetically. She believes this would change the quality of our interactions and enrich all our social gatherings.
- Beth advises listeners on the importance of slowing things down a little and knowing how to process our different emotions or situations as they happen. Without the proper knowledge, facing these trying moments in our lives can often seem to be beyond what we can handle.

RF019 – Learning to Silence Your Inner Critic
In this week’s episode of The Resiliency Factor Podcast, I share my thoughts about how you can effectively learn to silence your inner critic for good.
There’s a quiet, yet raging battle within all of us when it comes to feeling good about ourselves. Oddly enough, it doesn’t matter how smart, attractive, or successful you are – if your internal dialogue is negative and you lack confidence, you will inevitably fall short of your own potential.
It’s human nature. However, when you finally learn to accept yourself as you are and stop comparing yourself to others, a whole new world of abundance and opportunities arise you’ve never even dreamed of.
Key Highlights from Our Episode
I believe there are five key steps to learning how to silence your inner critic for good.
- Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
- Play to Your Strengths
- Keep a Thought Journal
- Forgive Others and Forgive Yourself
- Up-Level Your Circle of Influence
Quote
“One of the reasons why you might not feel good enough about yourself today may very well be because the tape of somebody else’s opinion of you has been playing on a loop in the background for the last 20, 25, 30 years.”

RF17 – Pain is Inevitable but Suffering is Optional
Key Highlights from Our Episode
- My mom’s sudden passing away less than one year ago is one of the most painful and challenging experiences I’ve ever been through.
- As painful as it was to sit by my mom’s bedside, begging and pleading with God to wake her up, I remember having one of the most profound experiences in my life, which gave me a feeling of deep and resounding peace, unlike anything I have ever felt before.
- We are all going to experience pain in some way, shape, or form during our time here on planet earth. Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
- Suffering happens when we do not allow ourselves the grace and space to be anything other than happy and joyful and peaceful all the time. Suffering happens when we have unrealistic expectations of how we are supposed to act, think, and feel in the face of painful experiences.
- Learning to embrace all of our emotions, however uncomfortable they may be, is the key to peace I can’t emphasize enough how making this one small change has empowered me to continue moving forward in spite of grieving and in spite of feeling sad at times. Do yourself a favor and give yourself the gift of grace. Allow yourself to feel everything you need to feel without judgment and you will see that although you may be in pain you don’t have to suffer.

“The mindset and confidence around putting myself out there was something that held me back for quite a long time. And in working with mastermind groups and speaking with people like you Lisa, it’s really been so helpful for me to kind of step into who I am and to not look at everyone else and compare myself to everyone else.”

RF05 – Finding Your Voice and Trusting Your Intuition
In this episode, I sit down with my soul sister, friend, and fellow podcaster, KJ Nasrul. KJ is a Marriage and Family therapist, Disaster Psychological First Aid Responder, musician and writer nursing a slight obsession with words and melted cheese. Growing up, the characteristics that marked her as an outsider and led to depression and shame as a biracial woman of color, and being a transracial adoptee raised by a single mother, are truly the source of what KJ refers to as her, “unique healing superpowers.”
In her work as a psychotherapist, KJ guides healthcare providers, artists, educators and leaders in the discovery of their inner resourcefulness with techniques influenced by expressive arts – music, design, journaling, guided visualization – within a traditional psychotherapeutic framework. KJ also hosts her own podcast, Stories of Astonishing Light.
Key Highlights from Our Episode
- KJ discusses how as a child growing up she knew she was somehow different than her peers. Her innate sense of curiosity led her to look at things more deeply rather than just accepting everything at face value
- The journey of entrepreneurship for many private practice mental health counselors is often unconventional.
- KJ courageously shares a very intimate experience in which she used her voice and trusted her intuition to avoid what could have been a deadly encounter with someone who had invaded her home one afternoon while she was home studying.
- You can rewrite new patterns and narratives in your resilience story.
- Practicing radical self-compassion is the essential first step to healing traumatic wounds of the past.
- Everyone has a wellspring of resilience and wisdom within. The key is to get quiet enough to tune into your own voice and to trust your intuition.

RF04 – Decision Paralysis: The Biggest Thing Keeping Many Entrepreneurs from Taking Action
In this episode, I am excited to interview Dr. Rob Garcia Aka The Warrior Strategist. Dr. Rob Garcia is a life coach, dual CEO, keynote speaker, 7-time author, and Air Force Veteran. Dr. Garcia is a big believer that no matter what stage you’re in life or whatever challenge you might currently be facing, there’s a warrior strategy within you that can help you rise above any obstacles or hindrances blocking the path to your success.
Key Highlights from Our Episode
- Dr. Rob talks about the untrained creative mind that most entrepreneurs typically seem to fall under. Three things to help identify such entrepreneurs according to Dr. Rob are fluctuating energy levels, trouble focusing sometimes, and amazingly creative thoughts.
- Dr. Rob also talks about a 5-day email sequence mini-course he created when faced with a financial situation. Dr. Garcia narrates how he went from not being able to raise rent money in 3 days to make at least $6000 dollars within 3 weeks after launching his online product.
- Dr. Rob also shares tips about why it’s important to maintain & cultivate professional network connections. He beautifully illustrates this by recounting how Jillian Sandoval hired him before and 4 years later he hired Jillian back.
- Dr. Rob also mentions how critical it is for entrepreneurs to guard their dreams & passions. Not everyone will respond positively to what you are trying to achieve. According to Dr. Rob, when you limit the amount of information peers know about you, the less likely they will become judgmental or impact your ability to work towards your goals.
Quote
“If you get caught up in decision paralysis, you are guaranteed to fail 100%. If you take a chance, you go make a decision one way you might win. You go the other way you might lose, but if you take no action you are guaranteed to lose.”
